Portraits
The Portrait Process
Getting Started
We’ll begin with a photo selection that will serve as the reference photo throughout the painting process. Small changes can be made, but for the most part, this is the image that will be painted. Here, we’ll talk about specifics of size, location of painting, and number of subjects. If you’re unsure of a specific photo, send several and I can advise you which would make translate to the best painting.
After your initial inquiry email, I’ll send back a quote. Upon approval, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the quoted price is due in order to begin work on your piece.
Things to Remember
Generally, I paint one subject per portrait. This helps enhance the features of the each person. For multiple children in a single portrait, additional charges will be applied. Pricing is based upon size of canvas and number of subjects in the painting.

Wrapping Up
Once I begin the portrait, I’ll send a photo to you when it is near completion. This is the opportunity to make any changes before I complete the painting. Then, your painting is varnished, sealed, and wired and the gallery-wrapped edges are painted so that it can hang freely. Framing is certainly an option and will require additional charges.
Before I ship, the remaining 50% is due. In exchange, I will send you the tracking information and due-date based on the shipping carrier.
The piece is delivered to your home, safe and sound, ready to be hung in it’s forever home!
